Get Out There!

Have you ever felt distant from God? Wondering if He heard your prayers? Thinking that maybe He forgot about you or that you weren't worthy of His time? Can I just tell you that you aren't alone in those feelings. We all have highs in lows in every relationship, and unfortunately, that includes the one with our God.

The good news is... There are ways we can deepen and grow that most crucial relationship and bring it back to a place where we feel truly connected. And that is to spend time with Him. In His Word and in prayer.

Another way is to get out in His creation.

When was the last time you went for a walk and actually took some time to spend in nature? Did you know that when we take time away from all the distractions, the busyness, and routines and actually get outside, it settles our minds and can refuel us from within? As in refilling us spiritually.

Job 12: 7-10: But ask the animals, and they will teach you, or the birds in the sky, and they will tell you; or speak to the earth, and it will teach you, or let the fish in the sea inform you. Which of all these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this? In his hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind.

Think about that for just a moment. There was a masterful Creator to our world. One that designed it all, with such prevision and detail, that when you truly take notice, you learn. You learn that the hand of the Lord was on all of it. That includes when He designed YOU!

How often do we miss what is right in front of us because we are too consumed by other noise (like our phones, events, tasks, situations, etc.). Take a walk, get out this week and pay attention. God is waiting to show you His beautiful creation and spend time with you.
