Chapters 27-30

Through this book, we see the importance of being wise vs. being foolish. Basically, our choices matter, and seeking wisdom is so important. We find our wisdom from the Bible, but it is good to have a community to help us grow spiritually, or get us back on track. Like an accountability partner.

Proverbs 27:17 As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.

There is nothing like a sweet friendship that will encourage you while building you up and growing you closer to our God! This is why we must surround ourselves around those that will love and support us, all while leading and guiding us. In other words... those that can "sharpen" us.

It works both ways, too. You can also be the one sharpening! When you share your faith, pray and plant a seed in someone's life, you are essentially "sharpening them." As you grow older and mature in your faith, younger brothers and sisters, friends, and others may seek you for hope, support and encouragement. You see, God can and will use you when you are seeking His wisdom!

Proverbs has been chock-full of wisdom, but it has also taught us so much about the character of God and who He wants us to be as His daughters. He reminds us over and over to not rely on our own understanding, but to trust His plan and His ways.

We are also told to see God's Word for what it is - complete. My middle daughter's Sunday school teacher once told her that BIBLE means - Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth. I love that acronym as it is so true!

As you read His Word, if you are unsure what something means, seek a mentor to help you. Get together with other trusted friends and come together to seek and learn.

Matthew 18:20 For where two or more are gathered together in my name, there am I in their midst.
