The Vision That Changed Everything: How God Sees You

By Mistie House

"Though your sins are like scarlet, I will make them as white as snow. Though they are red like crimson, I will make them as white as wool." - Isaiah 1:18 (NLT)

Have you ever been afraid to ask God how He sees you?

In 2014, I stood at the front of my church, eyes brimming with tears, asking for prayer. I was battling both physical illness and the weight of my past—a heavy load I had carried far too long. When the women's pastor invited me to close my eyes and ask God a simple question, my heart raced with fear.

"How do you see me?"

I was terrified of what I might see. I expected to encounter the image I carried of myself in that difficult season—broken, weary, and burdened. After all, I knew my story. Although I accepted Christ when I was a child and deeply loved the Lord, I still carried guilt and shame. I held onto the regret of innocence lost, and the spiritual orphan feelings of being fatherless, abandoned, and unloved.

But God's vision took my breath away.

I saw a little girl with long, golden blonde hair running through a field of white flowers. She was glowing in sparkling sunshine, smiling and laughing. When the pastor asked me to describe how this child felt, three words flowed out: "Light. Free. Joyful."

In that moment, everything changed. God didn't show me how I saw myself—He showed me how He sees me. Not as damaged goods. Not as the sum of my mistakes. But as His radiant child, washed white as snow by Jesus' cleansing blood.

Sister, God doesn't view us the way we view ourselves. He sees His beautiful creation, His adopted children, pure and precious. He created a way for us to be free from the heavy burden of sin, joyful in His forgiveness, and radiant in His light.

This encounter marked the beginning of my healing journey. I had been living like a spiritual orphan when all along I was a daughter of the King. I finally understood: I wasn't a nobody—I was royalty.

That vision became my first children's book, The Father's Princess: The Story of the White Daisy. But more importantly, it became my testimony. When you understand how God sees you and how He feels about you, it no longer matters what others think. You discover you're forever loved by Somebody who matters most.

That vision launched my ministry of sharing Jesus through my testimony, teaching, and storytelling. Today, I’ve published nine books with more in the making. I’m beyond grateful for how God’s used my award-winning stories to impact many lives. I'm not looking to be well-known—I want to make Jesus known. That's why I share my stories. Not for my glory, but for His.

So I invite you today: Close your eyes and ask Him. "God, how do you see me?" Wait for His response. You might just see yourself dancing through a field of white daisies, light and free and joyful—because that's exactly who you are in Christ.

You are not your past. You are not your mistakes. You are His beloved child, adopted and chosen, washed white as snow.

That is your story, dear sister. Will you embrace it?
